Buy Nourish Today & Holiday Reading…

Hello!

Happy July!

Book News . . .

When you were a kid, did you always get up really early on your birthday? Well, it’s in that spirit of excitement that I’m early with my newsletter this month… It’s finally time – the wait is over – sound the trumpets, this month my new novel is published!

The Nourish eBook is available for preorder on Amazon now, with paperbacks available from 14th July. And the eBook launch-week sale price is just £1.77!

£1.77 will buy half a cup of coffee in the average UK café today. 177 penny sweets. Or a single milligram of the more expensive suncreams.

Alternatively, you could spend just £1.77 on Nourish and receive all these:

  1. The eBook;
  2. the pleasing knowledge that you’ve boosted Nourish a notch up the book charts;
  3. a warm feeling inside that you’re a person who supports the arts;
  4. my undying gratitude.

Remember, if you’d like a sneak peek, you can read the first two chapters for free right now by clicking here!

And if you don’t like Amazon and would rather order direct from the publisher, you can get a 25% preorder discount on eBooks and Paperbacks here, using the code NOURISH2026.

Reading recommendation

This month, it’s all about Nourish! This is perfect holiday reading, whether you’re a young adult or young at heart.

Nourish is an eco-conscious thriller, set in a near-future world where meals have been replaced by Nutritional Provision. It tells a story of grief, friendship and rebellion – a beta reader of mine confessed to shedding a tear at one scene, and compared another key moment to The Hunger Games

Cal lives in a post-food world. People don’t eat. They have Nutritional Provision.

When Cal is enrolled in a fancy boarding school after the death of his father, he discovers a rare edible substance that forces him to question everything he’s been told about nourishment.

Determined to discover more, he joins forces with classmate Andi, heiress to the Nutritional Provision Corporation. But as their investigations lead to trouble and a friend’s life is in danger, will they dare risk everything to expose the truth?

Lazy green wins #25

Read an eBook! Or a paperback! Which is more environmentally friendly?

An eBook has far fewer carbon emissions than a printed copy. But what about the carbon footprint of producing the e-reader itself…?

According to Mike Berners-Lee, author of The Carbon Footprint of Everything, one e-reader has the environmental footprint equivalent of around 36 average sized paperback books; meaning that in its three-year lifespan, if you read more than 13 books a year, it is most likely the more sustainable choice. However, if you read less than 13 annually, print is the way to go.

Of course, the most sustainable choice of all is to borrow a library book or share a copy with friends. And yes, I’ll always be delighted to hear that people are reading my books for free – do ask your library to stock Nourish if it isn’t on their catalogue!

What will you be reading this summer? I’ll be by the English seaside for a week in August and I’d love recommendations for my holiday book pile!

Until next time,

Happy reading!

Laura

Hello! Happy May! Book News . . . The publication date for my new book Nourish is getting ever-closer – 14th July, to be precise. Last month I shared the fabulous cover design (I’m still ridiculously excited!), so this month I thought I should tell you a bit more… In draft form, Nourish got a stamp of approval when it was longlisted for the Yeovil Literary Prize. The novel is a dystopian thriller for teenagers (and adults who remain in touch with their inner teen!). Here’s the back-cover...
